I started out as a DJ, playing underground hip-hop & rap shows across Perth while building 6KMC as a creative media agency. In those early years, we were focused on documenting and celebrating the local music scene by write ups & YouTube premieres, covering festivals, interviewing punters and creating our UP NEXT series, where we recorded live performances from emerging Perth artists all recorded, engineered and produced in house.

As our network and experience grew, we found ourselves doing more than just creating content. We were helping artists navigate their careers, connect with opportunities and build sustainable pathways in the industry. That naturally led us to evolve into a full-service artist management agency, which has been 6KMC’s focus ever since.

In 2022, we launched Musible to further support independent artists through distribution and music services, expanding the ways we could help artists grow both locally and internationally. Today, my work combines artist management, development, touring and distribution with a strong commitment to championing artists from Australia on a global stage.

Music has always been about community for me. I started DJing because I loved discovering artists and bringing people together through music, but I quickly realised there were so many talented artists who weren’t getting the recognition or opportunities they deserved.

That motivated me to get involved beyond performing. I wanted to help tell artists’ stories, create platforms that celebrated local talent and make the music industry feel more accessible. Along the way, I worked across community radio at RTRFM and FBi Radio, where I was able to champion emerging artists and contribute to Australia’s independent music community from another perspective.

What started as filming live sessions and covering festivals grew into helping artists build sustainable careers through management, touring, distribution and strategic development.

Today, that same motivation still drives everything I do. Through 6KMC and Musible, I’m passionate about creating opportunities for independent artists, particularly those from Western Australia and helping them reach audiences both at home and internationally. Seeing an artist achieve a goal they’ve worked towards is what makes this work so rewarding.

Not necessarily, I went to TAFE and did a diploma in music business but no one has ever asked to see my diploma. I literally submitted the release plans I was doing as the assignments so for me it more so gave me trust in myself I was on track.  

My big picture career goal is to help build a more connected and sustainable pathway for artists, particularly those coming out of Western Australia and create opportunities for them to succeed on a global scale.

Through 6KMC and Musible, I want to continue developing platforms that support artists across multiple stages of their careers – from discovery and development through to management, distribution, touring and international growth. I believe there is incredible talent coming from WA, but more work needs to be done to create stronger industry connections, resources and pathways that allow artists to compete globally.

The rest of the year we have Kayps’ album BUNUBA BABY coming out August 14th. It’s the first album I’ve worked on from start to finish, so it’s been a really exciting project. I’ve been involved in everything from the sonic direction and bringing features together to coordinating all the moving parts behind the scenes and booking the tour. It’s been about two years since Kayps started the album with Calvin and I’m really excited to see it all come to life and for people to finally hear it front to back.
